Siemens Malaysia, Petronas and MMC Engineering Services Celebrate The Arrival of The First Gas Turbine For Pengerang Cogeneration Power Plant Project

On 7 June 2016, Siemens Malaysia, PETRONAS and MMC Engineering Services celebrated the arrival of the first gas turbine for Pengerang Cogeneration Power Plant project.
The arrival of the gas turbine was received by Mr Liew Yuen Choon, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PETRONAS Power Sdn Bhd, Ir Dr Colin Wong Hee Huing, Senior Vice President and CEO of PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corp Sdn Bhd, Mr Prakash Chandran, President and CEO of SIEMENS Malaysia, Mr Markus Speith, Project Manager of SIEMENS AG and Ir Chee Weng Loon, Director of MMC Berhad Engineering & Construction Division, MMC Corporation Berhad and En. Mohamed Khairuddin Abdul Rahim, General Manager Oil & Gas of MMC Engineering Services Sdn Bhd in an official ceremony.
The first Siemens SGT5-8000H gas turbine arrived at Tanjung Setapa Material Offloading Facility (MOLF) near the project site in Pengerang, Johor. It took four-week trip from Hamburg, Germany. It is the most powerful gas turbine in commercial operation today.
